American Idol: Top 3
In a matter of hours, Am Idol fans like me will know who will remain as the top 3 contenders for the title of American Idol 2006. The Elvis round was quite fun! It made me realize how good some of these Elvis top hits were. Taylor Hicks sang “In the Ghetto” with full respect to the song and its original singer. His voice is raspy, well-rounded, and unique. It goes well with his own unique personality, appearance, and quirky performance style. Chris came next, and though he did sang well, I was not blown away with his performance. He appeared too intense for an Elvis song, particularly during his second number. Elliot Yasmin sang his heart out and his vocal rendition of “Trouble” was brilliant. I agree with Simon that Elliot entered this round as an underdog but clearly, the man’s talent continues to shine. Katherine Mcphee may have earned a spot in the bottom 2 when she forgot a lyric in her first song. The three men outsang her this time. I do hope Elliot makes it to the top three. Either Katherine or Chris may have to go, but Elliot, despite his outstanding performance, remains quite vulnerable. So who will be out next? Stay tuned!
