ES Ermita says no job announcement yet for Palparan
Sep 10Chief of Staff Mike Defensor may have spoken too soon. He announced the other day that retiring General Jovito Palparan will be appointed to the National Security Council as deputy for anti-insurgency operations.
At yesterday’s airport send-off for President Arroyo, Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita told the media that the Palace has not yet decided on how to harness the talents of retiring general Jovito Palparan, but hinted that the outgoing general will indeed be given an executive position somewhere and sometime soon. He said the President is expected to announce the controversial general’s new post when she returns from her nine-day trip abroad.
“Of course we have plans for him, but this has not yet been finalized,” Ermita told reporters. “Definitely, we will use the talents of a general like..Palparan,” Ermita said (read today’s PDI).
