Miriam says no more Senate in July
“There will be no more Senate by July. Between May 15 when the present session resumes, and July 24 when a new regular session begins, the Supreme Court will have enough time to hear and decide a test resolution to convene a constituent assembly.”
My comments:
If we really care about the country, then we must rise to the occasion of defending its best interests. Those who remain in the sidelines, saddled with the inertia of indifference, must break loose, think their way through the fog of arguments, and plant their flag firmly on the ground — be it for cha-cha or against it. Those who are in power are hell-bent to change the Constitution, and because most of us are silent, they perceive this as a sign of tacit agreement. Well, is it?
 If it is not, then write it down in your blogs, say it aloud even before an audience of friends, whisper it in your prayers, and declare it to be so, once every Filipino is summoned to vote in a plebiscite. Do it now before you lose the chance to ever do this at all.

I used to be a fan of Miriam (remember when I’d bug you to vote for her when I was little?), but now I sincerely think she’s lost her mind. Either that, or she’s corrupt and power hungry as the rest of them (sorry). Sad.
Anyway. I am not afraid to make a stand. I am against the current Charter Change proposals. Not because I don’t understand the need for constitutional reform, but because I don’t trust the people who will undertake it. The last thing we need is for our Constitution, which is our only protection from an abusive government, to be tampered with and weakened by the very people it seeks to protect us from. Bleep. Scary.

mam, i salute and very proud of you for being vigilant in all the moves of the present administration to do all what they can to stay in power, How many more former government officials can follow your footsteps in depending their beliefs and principles. You are a mother to be honored for being watchful for the good future of the next generation.
