i really like like this article of your mam susan for it reminds me of my late grand father.. We used to call him ampa! His a former soldier when he retired from service he dedicated his life to his children and apo! It's true that you will know the importance of that person when he's gone... and by reading your article i missed him even more! Thanks for being so kind when dealing with your fans and i'm definitely one of them.. Hope you'll continue writing articles that undoubtedly touched many people's lives. I'm a broadcast Communication student ma'am and i look up to you so much.. hope i can write as good as you in the future and i hope we'll have a chance to meet you and Sir Bautista in the future. God Bless ma'am Ople!

hi bong! yes, he served the dole for two decades, i think. it was just a minor government office before his appointment, but then it grew in size and prominence during his stint as labor secretary. he persuaded FM to open the doors to overseas employment, with what started out as construction and oil workers to the Middle East and service workers to US territories. that's why when he died, his closest associate, subordinates in government and friends in the media acknowledged him as Father of Overseas Employment.

he loved to read and was a gifted writer. other than that, he was also an effective orator. he wrote his own speeches and did his own homework whether as senator or foreign affairs secretary. sloth & mediocrity were never part of his DNA.
